KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has condemned the armed group involved in preventing sports journalist Santosh Ojha and his father Dhundi Raj from visiting their ancestral home in Khotang on Friday.

Radio Nepal employee Ojha, who is a central committee member of FNJ-affiliated Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF), had showed his identity card to persons identifying themselves as cadres of Kirat Workers Party. But they snatched his identity card saying that Ojhas are feudals and journalists are thieves. They blocked the Ojhas at Sungachari Bhanjyang, Khotang threatening to throw them into the Koshi river nearby.

Issuing a press statement on Sunday, FNJ called it an attack on freedom of an individual as well as the press. FNJ has urged the government to take action against the persons involved.
