Manshobha Adhikari, wife of the victim, collected him from Jugedi-1 along the Narayanghat-Munglin road at around 1:30 am after she was phoned by the kidnappers at midnight. [break]
Manager Adhikari was found with hands and feet tied by a team of human rights activists, lawyers and journalists who went with the family. He was taken to the emergency ward of the Bharatpur Hospital for medical checkup. His mouth was covered with a handkerchief with cotton stuffed inside.
Pamphlets and press statement of a group called Democratic Security Force has been found from the place of release. The unheard of group in the pamphlets and press statement has said it would go to the extent of taking up arms to make Nepal a Hindu state.
The statement by the group´s president Baba Balram said Adhikari was abducted for interrogation about Unity Life International and was released as the manager´s health deteriorated.
"We found that we need to take other branch managers under control for interrogation. But we are forced to release him as his physical and mental health deteriorated," the statement read.
Earlier, Executive Director of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital Bharatpur Dr Bhaktaman Shrestha had claimed that he was kidnapped by another unheard of group called Nepal Hindu Janata Party following his release after 19 days in captivity.
Wife Manshobha said no ransom was paid to free Adhikari.
"They called me on Wednesday and said he would be released within the next 72 hours. They again called on Friday afternoon and asked me to come to Chitwan. They again phoned me at midnight and asked me to go near Jugedi bridge but had warned not to bring police," Manshobha recounted.
