A meeting of AAN members on Sunday decided to launch strong protest programs to exert pressure on the government to rollback the decision on the regulations. [break]
The regulation, which paves the way for all media houses to get public welfare advertisement in a proportionate manner, was approved by a cabinet meeting last week.
Issuing a statement, AAN said the government move would seriously affect the advertising business.
The AAN meeting also said the government had refused to provide a copy of the regulations despite requests from AAN.
“The gathering has felt that the government is deliberately trying to keep the advertising agencies in the dark and creating confusion over the objectives and possible impact of the regulations,” AAN said.
