9 killed in accident in Baitadi

KATHMANDU, March 1: Nine people were killed and six others were seriously injured when a passenger bus fell some 700 metres off the road at Shikharpur along the Jayprithvi Highway in Baitadi district in far west Nepal at around 2.45 p.m. on Sunday, said Radio Kantipur.



The bus (Na 2 Kha 6358) was en route to Mahendranagar from Bajhang. Police have reached the accident site for rescue operation. The driver is at large while his helper Ram Bahadur Thapa is in police custody.
