KATHMANDU, Oct 28: As many as 750 people stranded at Tilicho Base Camp in Manang district have been rescued by a joint team of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force (APF) and Nepal Police.
APF spokesperson Shailendra Thapa said the trekkers were brought from the base camp to Khangsar in Disyang Rural Municipality-9. They had been stranded at the camp since last night due to a blizzard.

Meanwhile, 50 others remain safely at the base camp. Those relocated to Khangsar are being provided support for safe return to their homes or points of origin, as lodging facilities in Khangsar are limited.
Separately, the Nepal Mountain Rescue Training Institute of the APF rescued 45-year-old Birendra Rasaili, who fainted due to altitude sickness while returning home from Tilicho Lake. He was taken from Khangsar to Humde Health Post for treatment. Rasaili is originally from Kathmandu Metropolitan-31.
Since the establishment of the Training Institute, the search and rescue of missing and stranded individuals in mountainous regions has become significantly more efficient.
