$50,000 Laotian aid for quake victims

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: The government of Laos has provided US$ 50,000 for the support of victims of the devastating earthquake that struck in Nepal on April 25.

Non- Residential Ambassador of Lao People's Democratic Republic Southam Sakonhninhom handed over a bank check worth the amount during a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey on Wednesday, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).On the occasion, Minister Pandey expressed his sincere thanks to the ambassador and Laos government for this generous support. Matters of mutual concern were also discussed during the courtesy call.

Separately, Non-Residential Ambassadors Nadir Patel (Canada), Teresita C. Daza (Republic of the Philippines), Tarek Mubarak Bin Daineh (Kingdom of Bahrain) and Enzo Angeloni (Italy) paid courtesy calls on Foreign Minister Pandey at his Office on Wednesday. Matters concerning mutual benefit were discussed during the meeting.
