29 KDC officials absent during SC inspection

KATHMANDU, March 31: A total of 29 officials were found absent at the Kathmandu District Court (KDC) when the Supreme Court carried a surprise check at the KDC on Wednesday.



A team led by SC Registrar Dr Ram Krishna Timalsena and accompanied by Joint Registrar Lohit Chandra Shah, Deputy Registrar Hemanta Rawal and Section Officer Madhav Mainali made a sudden visit at the Kathmandu District Court (KDC) to check whether court activities are running smoothly and effectively.



The team had reached the KDC for the inspection at about 2:15 pm.



"We have asked clarification from KDC on why such a huge number of employees were absent" Rawal said, adding, "We will take further step after receiving KDC´s reply."



The inspection team also asked questions to the service seekers whether they had been facing problems at teh KDC. According to Rawal, except minor complaints, service seekers were found to be satisfied with the KDC´s service.
