The fringe parties have also warned of protests and have demanded formation of a consensus government led by the political parties. The parties took the decision to protest formation of CJ led government at a meeting held in Baneswar on Wednesday. [break]
“Today we have only expressed disagreement with the proposal of the major parties,” said CPN-Maoist Secretary Dev Gurung, adding that they would launch stringent protests if the president endorses the proposal.
Issuing a joint press statement, the fringe parties also claimed forming a CJ led government would be unconstitutional.
“Today [Wednesday] we could not meet the president due to his busy schedule,” said CPN (Unified) leader Ram Singh Shreesh, adding that they would meet him on Thursday.
The fringe parties, including CPN-Maoist, had expressed disagreement with the decision of the major parties in an all party meeting on Tuesday. The major parties had called the meeting on Tuesday to garner support of the fringe parties for the formation of a CJ led government.
“We held a meeting today to make our view on the major parties decision to form a CJ led government public,” said Shreesh, informing that the fringe parties are against the syndicate of the “so called” major parties. The Madhesi and former royalist parties Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Rastriya Jana Shakti Party have also joined the fringe parties.
The fringe parties have also expressed views on finding a solution to the current deadlock. The fringe Madhesi-based parties that have joined the CPN-Maoist led alliance have only expressed disagreement with the process of forming CJ led government and syndicate of the so called major parties. Some other parties have expressed disagreement only with the decision on forming CJ led government.
“It is mainly an alliance against the CJ led government,” added Shreesh.
