Nine persons were critically injured in the accident when the bus skidded off the road and fell 100 feet down. They are being treated in Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal, Kathmandu. Other injured are being treated in different hospitals in Bhaktapur.
Bus conductor Nima Tamang said the speeding bus competing with another bus lost control while avoiding collision with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
Police have detained bus driver Shiv Bahadur Katuwal of Sindhupalchowk who is being treated in Iwamora Hospital, Bhaktapur.
