2 Pakistanis held with Rs 4.7m in fake Indian money

KATHMANDU, April 15: Nepal police has busted a fake Indian currency racket, arresting two Pakistani nationals and seizing fake currency worth Rs 4.7 Milion, at Tribhuwan International Airport.



According to SSP Hemant Bahadur Paal of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Office, Ranipokhari, the two were arrested during regular checking at the departure lounge.[break]



 The arrested were identified as Julekha Banu, in her forties, and her 19-year-old son Essa Danish. They arrived in Kathmandu from Karachi with the fake currency by Pakistani Airlines, Monday evening.



According to police, they have been searching for Nepalese involved in the racket. Police said they will bring charges under the relevent laws. Police suspect that the fake currency was about to be taken to India overland.
