2 killed, 6 injured in Rautahat road mishap

RAUTAHAT, Aug 1: Two died and six others were seriously injured in a road accident at Chandrapur Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway on Friday night.

The deceased have been identified as Chitra Bahadur Magar, 28, of Ranigunj-8 and Manoj Gole, 26 of Lalbandi-2 in Sarlahi district.


The incident occurred as a car, Ba 6 Cha 9012, with eight people on board, heading to Sarlahi from Chandranigahapur went out of control and rammed into a tree at 8 pm yesterday, according to Area Police Office, Chandranigahapur.

Over-speeding and over-load are the apparent causes behind the road mishap.

The condition of Arjun Magar of Lalbandi-2, among the injured is said to be critical. He has been rushed to Narayani Sub Regional Hospital, Birgunj for further treatment.

The other injured Kil Thapa, Dinesh Thapa, Suman Lama, Sunil Magar and Dinesh Kshetri of Sarlahi Ranigunj are receiving treatment at Chandranigahapur hospital.

The bodies, now are at Chandranigahapur hospital, will be handed over to their respective families after postmortem, Police Inspector Rundra Kanta Jha told Republica.
