According to the police, 1,710 liters of petrol were seized from the house of one Kapil Budathoki in Kalanki. Budathoki was planning to sell the illegally stored fuel at high prices. Likewise, 190 liters of petrol was confiscated from a vehicle (BA 1 JA 6968) parked in front of the same house.The police have arrested 12 persons for their involvement in black marketing of fuel. Thirty-nine-year old Budhathoki, Tanka Prasad Timilsina, Ghanashyam Risal, Tok Bahadur Pakhrin, Ratna Bahadur Shrestha and Ganga Kumar Shrestha were arrested as per the Black Marketing Act, said the police.
Similarly, four more persons were arrested from Swayambhu where 100 liters of petrol was found stored in the house of Sanu Thapa Magar.
Likewise, twenty-five-year old Ashmita Lamichhane was arrested from Koteshwar as she was preparing to sell 400 liters of petrol in black market.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police Range has also begun investigation after Nagariknews.com ran a story on the involvement of police in black marketing of fuel in Samakhusi of Kathmandu on Tuesday.
