Issuing a statement, the organizers -- Lalitpur Mobile Complex -- said the seven-day event had been visited by more than 150,000 people by the end of the day on Sunday.The expo has received two types of customers -- those looking to purchase 'branded' mobile devices and those wanting to find out which of the latest in mobile device technology was available, the organizers said in their statement.
The expo has focused on the sale of branded and seal-packed mobile devices and accessories because of which an increasing number of enthusiasts are visiting every day, according to the organizers. The expo has been showcasing and selling mobile devices of almost 40 brands, offering cash discounts from 7 percent to 70 percent.
Organizers said the expo has been facilitating visitors with mobile devices ranging from Rs 900 to Rs 100,000. Vendors of mobile device brands like Samsung, Huawei, Gionee, Apple, HTC, Microsoft, DTC, Lava, Colors, Sony, LG, BlackBerry, Panasonic and Karbonn, among others, are participating in the expo.
Apart from the central 7-70 percent cash back offer available brands, dealers and retailers at the expo have also been holding their own daily lucky draws with giveaways including cash discounts to new mobile devices. The organizer said it expected to draw up to a million visitors within the expo period. Entry charge for the wider general public has been fixed at Rs 100 while student can get in at Rs 50.
"We are overwhelmed by the increasing number of visitors to the expo," the organizers said, adding: "The expo is dedicated to serving visitors and mobile device enthusiasts through every means."
