The fire broke out at 10pm from Shanti Restaurant in Salleri. [break]
A preliminary estimate by police has put the total damages at Rs 200 million. Nine people, including four soldiers, two policemen and three locals, were injured while trying to douse the fire.
They are receiving treatment at District Hospital, Phaplu, according to Sudan Kumar Sijapati, a superintendent at Solukhumbu District Police Office. The fire raged for nearly five hours.
Hundreds of security personnel, Red Cross workers and locals were involved in containing the fire. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
