According to a local Dilli Raj Subedi, the displaced families have been taking shelter in tents in a near by forest. "Flood has destroyed everything," said Subedi. "More families are also threatened by the floods and are on the verge of being displaced," he added.

However, there has been no rescue or relief efforts. "Few police came to collect information but nothing more than that," said Subedi.
Authorities had shown similar apathy last year when the flooding occurred. Nothing came as relief to the villager after Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar returned to Kathmandu promising complete control of the situation. "We had pleaded for immediate compensation but our requests have fallen into deaf ears," said a local.
When it comes to flood prone area in the western part of country, Dunga village is always listed at the top. For the last four years Doda river has caused pains to many.
According to a local, the flooded river eroded 40 bihas of land last year. This has lowered the value of the lands in the village which was once known for it´s richness in agriculture. "Because of the fear of flooding, people have even stopped buying lands," said Bhoj Raj Bhatta a local from the village.
He is one of those unfortunate ones who were forced to demolish their houses built near the river because of the fear of flooding.
