Efforts to operationalize the machine are now reportedly underway. A seven-member team led by engineer Ramchandra Paudel, including engineers from various government agencies, was formed in December to assess the machine.

He unveiled a sweeping 39-point action plan aimed at immediately improving land and property administration, surveying, mapping, guthi management, and cooperative services.

The EC noted that online registration has increased after linking voter registration with national ID details. The deadline for voter registration was initially November 16, with an additional week later granted.

“We aim to operate the tunnel within the next few months, by mid-February to mid-April at the latest. If not, it will definitely be operational before the Nepali New Year,” said Keshav Sharma, Secretary at MoPIT.
