YCL cadres pelted stones at Bhattarai’s vehicle at Kalikasthan of Dhaibung VDC some 27 km from the district headquarters Dhunche.
Police said the attack left windowpanes of the car damaged but Bhattarai was not hurt.
After tension in the area, security forces have kept Bhattarai in the security base camp.
