Open to students and young professionals from in and outside the Valley who are in different realms of academia and professions, the workshop was hosted to get a feel of what the Nepali youth of today think about accountability and transparency in governance. [break]
“This isn’t a training, it’s a workshop,” said Anita Thapa, the director of Youth Initiative.
“We’re not here to train you and send you on your way but to find out what you think,” she said, addressing the participants. And so the program entailed interactive activities.
With Thapa leading parts of the program, the participants were encouraged to be vocal and involved as she mediated the affair with professionalism and integrity.

The one day workshop was split into two sections. The latter included presentations by guest speakers on matters like political accountability, good governance and media in social accountability.
The speakers included Dr Bhimarjun Acharya, constitutional expert, Prateek Pradhan, senior journlalist, and Basudev Neupane, development worker.
They shared their professional experiences and opinions with the participants.
