KT, who is also the representative of International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), mentioned that in order to receive royalty from their work, artistes must be associated with an organization and register their work.

“If an organization sells songs without the permission of lyricists, composers and singers, it’s illegal.”

Dikchha Gautam, general manager of MRCSN, mentioned that the first of its kind to be organized by the institution, the workshop hopes to generate more discussions on the issue of royalty and copyright in Nepal.
