Rajesh Deula of Bhelukhel, Bhaktapur-11, shot his wife Shova killing her on the spot.
Rajesh has been absconding following the incident. A preliminary investigation shows that the deceased was shot in her bedroom on the ill-fated night.
The incident took place around 12 at night, said Superintendent of Police Narayan Singh Khadka. "She has been shot behind her ears," said SP Khadka.
The locals have barred the police from sending the body for post mortem demanding immediate arrest of Rajesh and strict action against him.
However, SP Khadka informed of the assailant being nabbed by the Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka. Police are further investigating the case.
