There are different studies that show those who follow a vegetarian diet live a healthier life. People choose to be vegetarians for several reasons—animal welfare and better health, among others. If you’re looking for a healthier lifestyle, ditch your non-vegetarian diet for plant based foods.

Include a variety of food like green leafy vegetables, fruits, lentils, soybeans, peas, tofu, etc that will provide with you with enough protein and different Vitamins. Because vegetables contain less protein serving compared to meat, make sure that you have different plant protein sources in your food per meal. Normally, a vegetarian diet is high in fiber and low in fat which helps people to lose weight. However, take care to eat everything in moderation.

Vegetarians are less likely to suffer from diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. Meanwhile, they are also at a lower risk of developing cancer compared to those who consume meat.

Many people also claim to have better skin after settling into this healthier diet.

If you’re serious about adopting a vegetarian diet, it’s smart to start with slow steps so that the effect is more lasting. Begin by cutting down on a particular meat, for example mutton. When consuming meat, accompany it with a lot of green vegetables. You can also cut your meat intake slowly to adjust your taste buds and diet slowly.
