Victim kin stick to their compensation demand

KAWASOTI, Sept. 24: Relatives of those who lost their lives in a road mishap on Monday are sticking to their demand that they would not receive dead bodies till compensation is finalized. [break]



Three members of a family died on the spot when a bus, Lu 1 Kha 7364, en route to Bhairahawa from Kathmandu hit a motorbike, Na 19 Pa 8304, at Pragatinagar in Nawalparasi.

After the incident, irate locals have not yet received the dead bodies demanding compensation.



The died in the incident are Ram Prasad Bhusal of Pragatinagar-6, his daughter Laxmi Bhusal Tiwari and grand-son Yugal Tiwari.



The agitating locals have demanded that a trust of Rs 2 million be set up in the name of the deceased, compensation of Rs 5 million be granted to victim families in lump sum and employment be provided to victim family members.



The highway which was disrupted by the locals came into smooth operation since 2.00 AM after an agreement to hold discussion again.



Vehicular movement was allowed after it was agreed to sit for dialogue this morning on the presence of Chief District Officer Keshab Raj Ghimire.



Discussion on the demands of victim families would take place by showing maximum flexibility to their sensitivity, said the local administration official.
