Nepali New Year (Bikram Sambat) Message
On behalf of President Barack Obama and the American people, I congratulate the people of Nepal as you welcome in the New Year. This is an opportunity to celebrate national unity and goodwill in Nepal, and for people of Nepalese heritage around the world to reflect on new beginnings and possibilities. As Nepal’s friend and partner, the United States hopes that the coming year will see continued consolidation of democracy, including the promulgation of a new constitution, that will keep Nepal on the path of progress and prosperity.
