UML chief directs to halt YAN's parallel programs

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Amid growing rifts within the Youth Association of Nepal (YAN), party’s youth body, CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal directed to halt all the programs of the organization, on Thursday.



Writing letters to YAN Chairman Mahesh Basnet, Vice Chairman Jhapat Rawal and others, Khanal urged to postpone all the activities of the YAN as two group of the body announced parallel programs recently.[break]



Chairman Basnet-led group has called central committee meeting and training program at Biratnagar whereas the Rawal-led disgruntled group of the YAN has called the same program in the capital for Thursday and Friday.



Sher Bahadur Tamang, youth In charge of the party, is scheduled to inaugurate  YAN’s program in Biratnagar.



Meanwhile, YAN, general Secretary, Rajiv Pahari expressed his ignorance about the chairman´s letter and informed that the program would go as per the earlier schedule.
