Tusal reclaims top spot

KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Tusal Youth Club reclaimed the top spot in the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull B Division League defeating Laligurans Pulchowk Sports Club 2-0 on Tuesday.



It was the sixth win for Tusal in the ongoing league. Tusal, which has played four draws, has 22 points. Tusal had slipped to the second position after losing the last match with Birgunj Youth Academy. Samajik Youth Club also has 22 points but Tusal leads the table on the basis of goal difference. Suman Tamang and Nir Bahadur Ale scored a goal each for Tusal to seal victory on Tuesday. Tamang scored in the 44th minute while Ale doubled the advantage in the 67th minute.



It was the seventh defeat for Pulchowk Sports Club, which is the B division club with the highest sponsorship deal. Pulchowk is in the 11th position with 10 points from 11 matches.



In the day´s late kick-off, Brigade Boys Club thrashed United Youth Club 5-0 at the Armed Police Force (APF) Ground, Halchowk.



Brigade Boys Club has 17 points from 10 matches and is in the fifth place. United Youth slumped to the ninth position with 13 points from 10 matches.



Ukesh Shrestha and Mahesh Chand scored two goals each for Brigade Boys while Khagendra Khadka scored one.



Shrestha opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Chand scored in the injury time of the first half and in the 83rd minute to make it 3-0 for his side. Khadka scored in the 86th minute and Shrestha sealed an emphatic win with his second in the injury time of second half.
