PANCHTHAR, Dec 3: A truck driver was killed in a road accident at Guranse of Bharata VDC-5 along the Mechi highway in the district this morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Man Kumar Rai, 30, of Phidim-8 of the district.
According to Panchthar District Police Office, the accident took place when the truck (Me 1 Kha 1849) heading to Taplejung from Jhapa fell some 200 meters down from the road.
Police have stated that the driver indeed fell asleep which caused the accident. RSS
