'Timely statute possible if Maoist agree on democracy'

SUNDRARIJAL, April 13: Central member of Nepali Congress (NC) Gagan Thapa has said that the constitution can be promulgated on May 28 if the UCPN (Maoist) accepts the democratic norms and values.



Speaking at a program in Chapali Bhadrakali on Wednesday, he said the NC and UCPN (Maoist) has a debate regarding the drafting of a democratic or an authoritarian constitution in the Constituent Assembly. [break]



Nepali Congress President of Kathmandu district committee Bhimsen Das Pradhan said NC´s policies and programs will be taken at the grass root level.



Similarly, President of Nepal Bar Association Prem Bahadur Khadka said the NC should be run with complete democratic system.
