Santosh Karki of Sarlahi, Raj Bahadur Shahi of Bajura and an unidentified woman have gone missing since the landslide struck the house where persons, who had appeared for the Public Service Commission exams in Khotang two days ago, were staying. [break]
Laxmi Neupane, Ram Bahadur Shahi, Ratna Prasad Adhikari, Amar Bahadur Shahi, Deep Raj Acharya, Tejendra Shahi, Mahesh Roka and Dilli Raj Hamal of Jumla, Nirak Upadhyaya of Surkhet, and Bhima Niraula and Sita Thapa of Sunsari have been injured in the landslide.
Kabindra Prasain of Taplejung, Laxman Sawat of Kalikot and Shyam Yadav of Dhanusha were also injured in the incident.
Police said the injured persons are receiving treatment at the Udayapur District Hospital in Gaighat.
Meanwhile, our Dhankuta correspondent Siddha Raj Rai reports that two more houses have been swept away by landslide in Sisuwakhola VDC of Sankhuwasabha district Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday, the landslide had swept away 12 houses there.
Inspector Prakash Sharma at the District Police Office said that 56 families have been displaced due to the landslide. Of them, 280 persons have been shifted elsewhere for safety. Local Kalika Secondary School and Bal Kanya Primary School are also under the threat of landslide.
