After the fourth round games, top three ranked GMs Abdulla Al-Rakib, Ziaur Rahman and Niaz Murshed scored equal 3.5 points to take a joint lead.
GMs Rakib and Niaz settled for a tie in the fourth round match while GM Rahman Ziaur defeated another GM Enamul Hossain.
Meanwhile, Nepal's Bhupendra Niraula continued his unbeaten streak and scored three points by the end of fourth round.
Bhupendra won his fourth round match against FIDE Master (FM) Debaraj Chatterjee of Bangladesh. Along with Bhupendra, Bangladeshi GM Emanul, International Master (IM) Minhazuddin Ahmed, Shakil Abu Sufian and Pakistani IM Mahmood Lodhi are tied on three points.
Likewise, Bangladeshi FM Nasir Ahmed Sk, Nepali Candidate Master (CM) Rijendra Rajbhandari and Sri Lankan Alahakoon Isuru are tied on 2.5 points. Rijendra had defeated his teammate Sajin Maharjan in the fourth round match.
Meanwhile in women's, IM Shamima Akter Liza of Bangladesh and Nazrana Khan are tied on leading 3.5 points.
Top-ranked Shamima defeated second-ranked FM Sultana Sharmin Shirin in the fourth round while Nazrana defeated her teammate IM Rani Rani Hamid.
With three points, Bina Jaiswal of Nepal currently stands second in the standings. Bina defeated her teammate Shanta Thapa in the fourth round. Rani also has three points. Sri Lankan IM Ranasinghe Sachini and Bangladeshi FM Sulana Zakia earned equal 2.5 points after settling for a draw in the fourth round. Monalisa Khamboo of Nepal, Mohammad Chaudhary of Bangladesh and Wasif Zenobia of Pakistan have equal two points.
