Ujjwal Raj Poudel, 24, Spokesperson for Management Student Association of Nepal, says, “It’s all about initiation, and we have many examples of youths taking the first step to make things happen. We need to stick to our point and move along with it. We have the majority and it’s our will to make things happen, or not. It may take time but it’s certain to be accomplished.”[break]
It’s always about making that effort, taking the first step, to do what each of us can. The time for waiting for someone else to bring about revolutionary changes is long gone. We can’t expect to do big things on our own, but we surely can help in our own way.
Ayush Dhungel, through our Facebook Page, says, “The least we can do is to stop participating in the bandas and chakka jams. If you can’t do any good, you can at least stay quietly and let others do something! While some youths are putting in all their efforts to bring about positive changes, others are busy acting as slaves of political parties.”
Diwash Shrestha hits the bull’s eye. He states, “Youths are vulnerable to drugs, HIV/AIDS, etc. If we want to help our country develop and change, then we should first change our attitude and behavior for better and start working and involve ourselves in volunteering, education, service or any small or medium-scale business. If we indulge ourselves in economic activities, education or any social activities, it’ll help increase the GDP of our country because youth make up the majority of the population. If we work, we help economically. If we work on our attitude and behavior, we’re in less risks of getting indulged in bad activities. If we aren’t involved in such activities and are working, then we have less probability of crime and bandas in our country. Our quality of life increases as well as our health. If we involve ourselves in social activities like teaching poor children and spreading awareness, more people will be aware in return. If we educate ourselves, we’ll be concerned about the environment. When the environment is good, our health will improve too. We know that most youth are economically dependent, so even if we can’t do anything for the country, we can always work on ourselves, on our attitude and behavior to bring change. To bring change in our country, we have to bring change in ourselves. So stop talking and start working.”
Really, stop talking and start working should be the new motto for us.
