Tension runs high in Chitwan as police intervene YAN's protest program

CHITWAN, Aug 16: As many as five CPN–UML affiliated Youth Association Nepal (YAN) cadres including Suraj Tiwari, a member of foreign department of the organization,  were injured in police intervention in Chitwan on Thursday.



Police had intervened program and lathicharged against YAN cadres who were greeting Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai with black flags and chanting slogans against him demanding his resignation at Bharatpur.[break]



The incident took place as PM Bhattarai at Bharapur was returning to Kathmandu after visiting to a Chepang community in Siddhi here in the district.



Meanwhile, situation has become tensed following the incident in Chitwan. YAN has also called Chitwan banda today with immediate effect protesting the police action against its cadres.
