In the same incident, another inmate, Riddhi Gurmachhane, was critically injured. He is undergoing treatment at Sindhuli District Hospital, informed Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sindhuli Keshab Raj Acharya.
The police said Devkota, who was in Sindhuli jail since May 14, 2012 had allegedly been bullying other inmates. This might have led to the clash, said the police.

According to Prison Office Chief Tara Prasad Poudel, the prison is facing a manpower crunch as staffers appointed for the prison have been transferred to public health office in Sarlahi.
