Marking the occasion, the Tamu Lhosar Main Celebration Committee organized a special function at Tundikhel in Kathmandu.
Inaugurating the function, Vice-president Parmananda Jha said the Tamu Lhosar has now become a national festival and expressed the confidence that there would be no discrimination of any kind in the days to come.
UCPN (Maoist) Vice-chairman and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Narayan Kaji Shrestha said Lhosar is a pride of every Nepali and added that there was no alternative to go for CA elections after forming a government of national consensus.
Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat stressed the need to form a democratic republic country based on a rule of law in order to ensure equal access of all the janajatis in the state power.
CPN-UML leader Siddi Lal Singh, CPN-Maoist Leader Suresh Ale Magar, President of Federal Socialist Party Ashok Rai, RPP leader Ang Tsering Lama and other speakers expressed their views.
Earlier, a pageantry highlighting the culture, lifestyle and costume of the Gurung community was taken out.
