BIRATNAGAR, Dec 5: Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala has said most of the government ministers are corrupt and that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) should initiate investigation into their possible involvements in financial irregularities.

“Funds have been indiscriminately distributed (from the state coffer). Money has been sought for (government officials’) promotion,” said Koirala while speaking to reporters at Biratnagar airport on Monday morning. “What is the CIAA doing?” she asked. [break]

Saying that some of the ministers are among those currently facing graft charges at the Supreme Court, Koirala said, “I smell a rat having to see nobody saying anything even when these ministers are rampantly stealing the state funds.”

The NC leader also said the present government has done nothing good except for some progress in the peace process. “Even there are conspiracies going on in it,” she added.

“Now there will be no second thought on the integration number [of Maoist combatatants],” Koirala said and asked what happened to the funds issued in the names of 3,000 combatants, who now appear to be nonexistent.
