KATHMANDU, Aug 13: The padlocking at the Office of the Council of Vocational Training and Technical Education (CTEVT) has been opened.

Different sister and student wings close to various 17 political parties had padlocked the council office yesterday, putting forth various demands including ending of irregularities taking place in the Council.

The agitating political wings agreed to open the lockout after a meeting with the Council officials held earlier today ended positively. Talking to RSS, Nepal Students Union (NSU) spokesperson UP Lamichhane said the lock out was opened after the Council agreed to address the demands raised by the agitating students.

During the meeting, CTEVT officials agreed to probe into irregularities and misconducts reported within it. Lamichhane said the next meeting will be held to decide on further steps against non-removal of the names of those colleges resembling English words.

"Our frequent calls to remove the names of those colleges having resemblance with the English word have fallen on deaf ears," he said.
