Stay alert: Home Minister Shrestha

NEPALGUNJ, Aug 3: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayankaji Shrestha on Wednesday said there is threat from ousted powers as the country is in the transitional phase.



Shrestha warned security agencies and district administration offices against possible unrest, saying those who have lost their positions in government are trying to spread anarchy in the country.[break]



Addressing the Mid-Western regional security meet in Nepalgunj on Wednesday, he asked the security agencies to stay prepared for tackling any untoward situation.



The newly appointed home minister asked the heads of the district police offices and district administration offices to dedicate themselves to public service.



Shrestha said that the government is always willing to help those who carry out their duties abiding by the law. Shrestha directed the government employees not to succumb to any pressure from political parties at any cost.



He expressed his resolve to take a hard stance against those who frequent power centers for their personal interests.



Heads of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, National Investigation Department and the Chief District Officers of 15 Mid-Western districts, among others, are taking part in the two-day regional meeting.
