Sports journalists Hemanta Kafle, Adarsha Dhakal, Rajendra KC, Subash Subedi, Dipendra Baduwal, Bishnu Shahi and TS Thakuri were also felicitated on the occasion.
The Women´s Commission gave away tokens of love to all the institutions and individuals that had lent their support to the First National Women´s Beach Volleyball Tournament held last month in Sauraha, Chitwan.
Vice-president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Bhawani Rana handed over letters of appreciation to the journalists. Rana requested the private sector to help the Nepali sports sector and vowed to provide help from her side to promote beach volleyball in the country.
On the occasion, the commission also made public the income and expenditure report of the tournament.
According to the commission, the total expense during the tournament was around Rs 700,000, of which Rs 276,000 was sponsored by Regional Hotel Association Nepal, Chitwan. The other expenses were managed through a fund of Rs 500,000 provided by commission president Niroj Maskey and some other small sponsorships.
