National open shooting in July
KATHMANDU: The National Open Shooting Tournament will begin on July 1, National Sports Council (NSC) informed on Thursday. The four-day tournament, organized by Nepal Shooting Association, will take place at the Satdobato Shooting Range, Lalitpur. The tournament will feature 10-meter air rifle and air pistol events inboth men’s and women’s categories.
RNGC Amateur Golf Championship from Saturday
KATHMANDU: The RNGC Amateur Golf Championship is scheduled to kick off on Saturday at the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC). The championship, sanctioned by Nepal Golf Association will conclude on Monday. The competition will be played on 54 holes stroke play format. According to the host RNGC, cut will be applied after the completion of 36 holes. The amateur will receive ‘Ranking Points’, which will be recognized by world amateur ranking. All members of RNGC and players from other clubs who are 0-9 handicap are eligible to participate in the tournament. Top three caddies of clubs other clubs are also eligible for the championship.
GEMS beats AVM
KATHMANDU: GEMS defeated Adarsha Vidhya Mandir 2-0 in the ongoing Coca-cola Inter-school National Football Tournament on Thursday. Saurav KC and Atul Gautam scored a goal each in the match played at ANFA Complex, Satdobato to lead GEMS to victory. In another match, The City Academy beat Zenith Academy 4-3 in a tiebreaker after the regular time of the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, a brace from Subarna Jung Shah helped Cambridge Public School register a 2-1 victory over Manohar School. In the last match of the day, Jalpa School defeated Martyr Dharma Bhakta School in tiebreaker.
