Nepal’s FIFA ranking unchanged
KATHMANDU: Nepal remained steady in the 149th position of FIFA world ranking published on Wednesday for the month of May, giving continuity to its top ranking among South Asian countries. Nepal had climbed four spot above in the ranking table in April. Nepal had not competed in any international tournament after the final rounds of Challenge Cup held in March.
Among South Asian countries, Bangladesh is behind Nepal in 152nd spot while India and Maldives share the 164th place. Afghanistan is 170th, Pakistan 181, Sri Lanka 184 and Bhutan 201. World Champion Spain remains unchanged occupying the top spot while Germany, Uruguay, Netherlands and Portugal are from second to fifth places respectively.
