Banepa Boys clinches PUFA title
KATHAMANDU, June 09: Banepa Boys Club (BBC) on Saturday clinched the title of First PUFA Invitational Cup Football Tournament held at Panchkhal, Kavre. Ram Thapa scored the match decider goal for BBC in its 1-0 win over Spark Health Club of Kathmandu. The man-of-the-match declared Thapa scored in the 22nd minute. The winner and the runner up were awarded with Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. National player Bhola Silwal of Spark was declared the best player of the tournament while BBC´s Dhiraj Sunwar and Prakash Baidhya were declared the best goalkeeper and coach respectively. Nawajyoti Club of Kalanki got the fair play award and Subash Gurung B of same team received highest scorer prize for his three goals. All of them were awarded with Rs 5,000 each.
KU wins girls´ football title
KATHAMANDU, June 09: Kathmandu University (KU) High School A claimed the title of Guheshwari Cup Girl´s Six-A-Side Football Tournament held in the capital. KU defeated host Guheshwari Academy 1-0 on penalty shootout after the regulation and extra time finished in a goalless draw. The winning and runner up teams bagged Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 respectively.
