SP discusses breakaway lawmakers

KATHMANDU, July 25: The Central Committee (CC) meeting of Sadbhawana Party (SP) began Monday in Kathmandu to discuss the fate of its three lawmakers who quit the party and formed their own Federal Sadbhawana Party.



SP´s Khobhari Raya, Malamati Rana Tharu and Mahesh Yadav defected to the new party formed by former SP general secretary Anil Kumar Jha on July 19. [break]



About 40 SP leaders on Monday demanded that the party should take strong action against the breakaway lawmakers.



“Most of the district chairmen and heads of sister organizations who spoke during Monday´s meeting demanded that the lawmakers should be expelled,” said a senior leader in condition of anonymity.



More SP leaders will speak on the issue on Tuesday.
