Singh honored with National Journalism Award

KATHMANDU, June 8: The government has honoured senior journalist Kedarman Singh with the National Journalism Award- 2068 BS.



Similarly, journalists Rajeshwor Nepali, Lal Deusa Rai and Gopal Prasad Thapaliya have been felicitated with the Senior Journalist Award -2-68 BS.



Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav honoured the senior journalists amidst a special ceremony at the Ministry on Friday.



Journalist Singh, who had started his career in journalism in 2017 BS, took retirement from the BBS Nepali service and Agence Presse of France (APF) recently.



Likewise, Rai had joined journalism in 2018 BS and had a long experience at The Rising Nepal.



Similarly, felicitated Thapaliya is a chief editor for the Chalphal Daily.



On the occasion, Minister Yadav stressed the need of developing journalism in a more disciplined and responsible manner.



Also speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of Federation of Nepali Journalists Om Sharma accused the government of distributing advertisement to media in a prejudiced manner.



Also speaking on the occasion were Secretary at the Ministry Abanindra Kumar Shrestha, senior journalist Dev Prakash Tripathi among others.
