Seven killed in separate road accidents across Nepal

Seven people have died in separate road accidents reported from different parts of the country, according to police. Police said further investigation into the incidents is underway.

KATHMANDU, April 3: Seven people have died in separate road accidents reported from different parts of the country, according to police.



In Panchthar, a pickup van (Me 1 Cha 6029) went out of control and met with an accident at Bancharedanda in Hilihang Rural Municipality-5 on Thursday evening. A passenger, 24-year-old Awas Mabo of Subhang, Hilihang-5, died while undergoing treatment at the District Hospital Panchthar after sustaining serious injuries in the crash.


In Banke, a truck (Ra 1 Kha 3145) hit two motorcycles—Bhe 10 Pa 6065 and Lu Pra 03-001 Pa 4040—at Nahar Khajura in Janaki Rural Municipality-4 on Thursday night. The rider of motorcycle Bhe 10 Pa 6065, 40-year-old Mo. Ahmad Jola of Guleriya Municipality-9 in Bardiya, died on the spot. Another person riding the same motorcycle was injured and has been referred to Lucknow, India, for further treatment. Police have taken the truck driver into custody.


In Kailali, a motorcycle (Su Pa Pra 01-009 Pa 6778) went out of control and crashed near the Forest Office in Tikapur Municipality-1 on Thursday night. The rider, 35-year-old Ramesh Shahi of Tikapur-1, died while undergoing treatment at Tikapur Hospital.

Similarly, a pedestrian, 38-year-old Krishna Bahadur Bik of Bagmati Rural Municipality-8 in Makwanpur, died after being hit by an unidentified motorcycle at Nyureni on Thursday night. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Hetauda Hospital. Police said the motorcycle rider involved in the incident is absconding and a search is underway.


In Morang, a pedestrian, 65-year-old Bhim Bahadur Tumsā of Kerabari Rural Municipality-3, died after being hit by an auto-rickshaw (Ko 1 Ha 7965) at Hachuwa on Thursday night. He died during treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. The auto-rickshaw driver has been taken into custody.


In Sarlahi, 28-year-old Dhanraj Yadav of Haripur Municipality-9 died on Friday morning after falling from a Magic van (Na 1 Ja 5855) traveling from Malangwa to Nawalpur near Sirsiya School in Kabilasi Municipality-7. He died while receiving treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa. The vehicle driver has been detained.


Meanwhile, in Rautahat, 28-year-old tractor driver Ranjit Sah died on the spot after the tractor (Na 6 Ta 9683) he was driving went out of control and crashed at Gadhimai Municipality-7 on Thursday night.


Police said further investigation into the incidents is underway.
