The resignation of the seven resident officers recruited on one-year contract has affected services at the institute already bearing the brunt of excessive flow of patients.
Those who resigned are Madhav Prasad Dev, Punam Mohada, Priyadarshi Adarsha, Nidhi Sethiya, Nishant Mishra, Abhishek Chaudhary and Dilasha Katuwal. Hospital administration said contracts of two of them had almost run out.
The emergency ward has already been under-staffed with just 21 resident officers in place of the 35 quota. Director of the institute Dr BP Das, however, said the resignations won´t be accepted.
