KATHMANDU, March 2: The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to conduct hearings on habeas corpus petitions even during the public holiday declared for the election.
Despite the government announcing a public holiday for voting, the court has assigned judges to hear habeas corpus writ petitions on those days.

According to SC spokesperson Arjun Koirala, Justice Sharanga Subedi has been assigned for March 4, Justice Mahesh Sharma Paudel for March 6, and Justice Meghraj Pokharel for March 8, which coincides with International Women’s Day.
The apex court has fixed the hearing time for habeas corpus petitions from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
