Sale of Ruchi noodles banned

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 3: The Regional Office of Standard and Metrology, Biratnagar on Monday, halted the sale of Ruchi noodles under Himalayan Snacks Pvt Ltd ,accusing the company of duping consumers.



The godown of the company, the Bishnu Leela Suppliers, was raided by officials this morning. A decision to this effect was taken following the raid.



According to Sashi Bhusan Yadav, head of the regional office, the raid was carried out acting on information on the irregularity. During raid it was found that a packet of 75 grams noodles was lesser by some 4 grams.

 

“We have banned sale of  the noodles until the investigation is over," Yadav added. The company has been selling the 75 grams noodles for Rs 15 per packet. The metrology office has sealed 15 cartons of noodles at the storehouse.
