Rijal who holds national record in women´s 400 m bagged gold in 100 m and 400 m. She, however, failed to meet her personal best in 400 m, finishing the race in 1 minute 2 seconds. [break]
Her timing for national record is 59.2 second. Sabita Chaudhary and Dil Maya Karki of same departmental team secured second and third places.
In 100 m, Rijal clocked 13.2 seconds coming ahead of her colleague Sabita Chaudhary and Anchali Waiba of Nepal Army who secured third position.
Siddhanta Adhikari of Pokhara was the only athlete to secure first position from teams other than departmental. Adhikari came first in men´s 400 m clocking 50.9 seconds. Dashi Ram Chaudhary and Mukti Khadka of Nepal Army came second and third respectively.
In men´s 100m Tilak Ram Tharu (10.9 seconds) of Nepal Police Man Bahadur Chaudhary of Army Club and Bali Ram Chaudhary of APF secured top three places respectively. Army-men clean swept 1500 m with Kalyan Baniya (4 minute 1.9 second), Hari Rimal and Moti Ram Chaudhary coming in top three places respectively.
Hari Rimal (Nepal Army) and Raj Kumar Bista of Nepal Army finished winner and runner up in men´s 5000 m while Gyan Prasad Bhattarai from Sindhuli came in third place.
Rajendra Bhandari (1 hour 4 minutes 16 seconds) and Arjun Bahadur Basnet of Nepal Army secured first and third place while Arjun Prasad Dhakal of APF came second in men´s 20,000m race.
Surya Khatri and Dhirendra Jung Shah of Nepal Army secured top places in high jump and javelin throw. Khatri leaped in 1.90 m and Shah threw 58.10 m.
In women´s category Bindra Shrestha (5 minute 1.2 seconds) and Geeta Khatri secured gold and silver medals respectively in 1500m while Rupa Khadka of Nepal Army claimed bronze.
Kanchhi Maya Koju (17 minute 38.7 seconds) and Krishneshwori Sintakala of APF were the winner and runner up in 5000 m race. Saraswoti Khadka of Kathmandu finished third.
Keshari Chaudhary of Nepal Police and Sita Shahi of PLA ( Maoist combatant) secured top places in high jump and javelin throw respectively. Chaudhary jumped 1.50 m and Shahi threw 35.27 m.
