Reshmika Murder Case: Three more arrested

KHOTANG, May 27: Three more people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Reshmika Pariyar of Batase in Diprung Chuichumma rural municipality-4 in Khotang district.



The arrested individuals have been identified as Heman Pariyar, 28, of Batase; Deepak Shrestha, 25, of Chhitapokhari; and Deepak Rai of Batase, whose age has not been ascertained, according to the District Police Office, Khotang.


Twenty-seven-year-old Reshmika was found dead on the night of September 15 last year.

Police Inspector Nirajan Basnet said further investigation into the case has proceeded after the three suspects were taken into custody following an order from the High Court in Okhaldhunga.


Police had earlier arrested a 16-year-old boy on September 17, 2025, on charges of involvement in the murder. He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody for trial by order of the District Court, informed Inspector Basnet.


Family members of the deceased filed a complaint at the High Court in Okhaldhunga on April 4 this year, naming three additional individuals as suspects in the case.


Acting on the complaint, the High Court on April 11 directed the District Police Office to conduct further investigation into the incident.
