Red for AIDS

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: YUWA, a youth led non-profit organization, in association with Youth Activists Leadership Council (YALC) and Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GYCA), are organizing a ‘Red Ribbon Caravan’ campaign to mark the World Aids Day on December 1.



Carrying 25 youth experts of varying talents, the caravan will embark on a national journey stopping at schools in Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, performing and informing students about HIV/AIDS. The caravan will continue its journey on December 2 and 4 as well. [break]



The caravan, attractively decorated with HIV/AIDS related banners, slogans and poster, will house 25 youth experts’ teams including a puppet show team, music team, documentary screening team, mobile information sharing team, games team, management team and some volunteers.



The caravan will conduct events like live Sarangi performance, puppet drama on youth sexual and reproductive health and rights, abortion and relevant documentary screening.



A mobile information sharing center will also be set-up to provide information on HIV/AIDS and various games will also be conducted.
