“I am here to convey India’s commitment on working with Nepal for a democratic, stable and prosperous Nepal,” said Roa. She also stressed that she would be reviewing the issue of bilateral collaboration and focusing on the issues of mutual interest in expanding and strengthening the bilateral ties between India and Nepal.
During her stay, Rao will hold meetings with President Ram Baran Yadav,Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Speaker Subas Nemwang, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, NC President Sushil Koirala, CPN UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, MJFD Chairman Bijay Gachhadar.
When asked to comment on the current political situation in Nepal she said she was not here to comment on it but would like to convey India’s readiness to help Nepal in any way it wants.
Rao joined Foreign Secretary Bhattarai for lunch at Hotel Yak and Yeti from the airport. She is also secluded to meet Speaker Nemwang later in the day.
